| Two men are shown fishing for trout on the Yellowstone River in this early divided-back postcard, copyright 1905 by Detroit Publishing. This natural setting for anglers has changed little over the years, though increased visitation has required special limitations for fishing Yellowstone's unstocked lakes and rivers. Fishing is still permitted on Yellowstone River and its tributaries, though park regulations require this be done on a catch-and-release basis only, and in the area between Chittenden Bridge (near Canyon) and Yellowstone Lake.
