Franklin Guy Markley Sr. was born in Goshen Township, Auglaize Co., Ohio on Aug. 25, 1885.
He died Sept. 6, 1964 in Canton, Ohio. He is buried in David Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio.
He was the son of Finley P. Markley and Rachel Jane Sprague. He was a Methodist Minister serving
churches in northern and southern Ohio. He retired in 1956 after 50 yrs. He and Gertrude moved to a
house they owned in Dayton, Ohio, where they lived the rest of their lives.
He married Gertrude Ethel Wagoner in Fulton Co., Oh. on Sept. 9, 1906. Gertrude was born May 5, 1889;
She died July 21, 1963 in Dayton, Ohio. She is buried in David Cemetery, Kettering, Ohio. She was the
daughter of Charles Henry Wagoner and Orminda J. Bundy.
Rev. Franklin G. Markley and Gertrude Wagoner had the following children:
1) Helen Ruth Markley Whitehead (Clifford) was born Dec. 25, 1909; died Sept. 1994.
2) Naomi Lois Markley Voelker (Louis) was born July 17, 1911; died March 28, 1995.
3) Cleo Twylight Markley Wolf-Paschal (James) was born June 30, 1914; died Nov. 27, 1990.
4) Franklin Guy Markley Jr. was born Feb. 27, 1926.
