Our family moved to our first apartment on July 4, 1949, and on Sept. 4, 1949 Franklin R. (Frankie as he
was called while growing up) was born. When he was 4-1/2 yrs old his family bought a home on 13th
Street NW in Canton, Ohio. Here he was raised and attended Summit Elementary School and Lehman High
School, from which he graduated with the class of 1967. He then attended The University of Akron, from
which he received a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts in 1971. After graduation he moved to Mt. Vernon,
Ohio, and was employed for 9 years as a teacher at the Mohican Youth Center in nearby Loudonville. In
1973 he moved to Loudonville, where he lived for 25 yrs. When the home he lived in was sold in 1998 he
moved to Ashland, Ohio, where he has been employed since 1981.
