FRANKLIN GUY MARKLEY, JR .
FAMILY
David was born while his parents lived in the parsonage of Simpson Methodist on Market Avenue S in
Canton, Ohio with his grandparents Rev. F.G. and Gertrude Markley. His family lived there until July 4,
1949 when they moved to their own apartment .In 1951 they moved to an apartment on 4th St. SW. There
he attended kindergarten at Wells Elementary School, then on May 14, 1954 the family moved into a home
they bought on 13th St. NW in Canton. Here he attended Summit Elementary School and Lehman High,
from which he graduated with the class of 1966. He then attended The University of Akron, where he
received an associate degree in Electronic Technology in 1969. In late 1969 he moved to Columbus Ohio,
where he was employed by Bell Labs. He then made his home in Reynoldsburg. He retired in July 2001
from Lucent Technologies (Bell Labs Innovations).
